Cruisers join cruising clubs for the comraderie of cruising, and in the Lowcountry waters the anchorages are plentiful. Church Creek. Hamlin Sound. Steamboat Creek. Cooper River. Toogadoo. Moise Island. In November 2017 the Cruising Club of Charleston enjoyed their annual cruise to Moise Island. It’s a very special place, filled with memories. Until next year, we’ll just have to live with our Moise Island memories and make more elsewhere.
The old Pitt Street Bridge Park. It’s where I go to think…and to shoot. Sunrises over Sullivan’s Island, and sunsets over the Charleston Harbor can be spectacular from what locals call “the old bridge.” The bridge from Mount Pleasant, SC, over the Atlantic Intracoastal Waterway to Sullivan’s Island, is long since gone, but the Town of Mount Pleasant has made the causeway out to the site of the old bridge, a small and wonderful park.
