Sunless Sunrise

Sunless Sunrise
Sunless Sunrise from “A slightly different point of view” – Idle Speed – No Wake Zone

Just west of the northbound entrance to the Intracoastal Waterway from the Charleston Harbor is a small creek.  I call it John’s Creek, after a friend whose home overlooks it.  It is only navigable at high tide, and then with a small, shallow-draft boat.  I prefer to enjoy its beauty from the old Pitt Street Bridge.  Recently, a “wandering” Idle Speed – No Wake Zone buoy found its way up the creek and into the marsh through which the creek flows.  On a sunless sunrise morning, it added an element to a sunless sunrise pic.

Full Moon Tide

Another full-moon high tide.  This one from the Pitt Street Bridge, Mount Pleasant, SC. In the early 1900s, the cable car from Mount Pleasant to Sullivan’s Island, SC crossed from the mainland to the island via the Pitt Street Bridge.  Today, it is a passive park with magnificent sunrise, sunset, and water views.
